MFG/Pro Installation Methodology
We've been installing/upgrading MFG/Pro since 1995. We've had lots of experience, at many sites, installing, upgrading and applying patches as well as developing custom code for QAD. Over the years AEI developed an installation methodology that was adopted by CGI Group as their standard for QAD installations and recommended by QAD.
Our philosophy is, keep each install base separate. Major releases, minor releases and patches as well as custom code in production and developement are kept separate. This makes for easier code control and remediation in the event of programming errors. It's not a difficult thing. But it looks like a lot of directories, so it is often skipped by inexperienced installers.
